"Atelier de Production et de Création" commonly known as APC, is a famous French brand, founded in the 1987 by Jean Touitou in Paris. With the aim to create simple and minimalistic yet high quality jeans, the designer created his first APC pants made from high quality Japanese denim. Sewn and cut according to traditional and vintage American standards, the raw denim jeans quickly gained popularity amongst people, and the price, tuned up to the quality of the denim, easily rose above competition.

APC's evolution

With the same recipe kept over time, APC always left an important part of simplicity and high authenticity, keeping an eye on prices, to reach the experts as much as the beginners. Although A.P.C is commonly associated with raw denim, the brand has a large and diverse offer, men and women accessories embodying a stylish and casual Parisian look. Shifting away from denim by releasing more versatile collections, Jean Touitou produces in 2011 a new series of patchwork quilts, re-purposing fabric from old collections, and starts selling accessories as well.

Well established in the fashion industry, APC starts teaming up with well renowned brands and artists in 2008 like Nike, or the famous rapper Kanye West. In the last few years, APC has collaborated with brands like Sacai, Lacoste or Bape, bringing even more eyes on the Parisian label. By bringing diverse collaborators into APC's circle, the French brand has started to transition from its classical look to a more modern and streetwear inspired style. Adapting perfectly to a transforming industry, L'Atelier de Production et de Création builds a broader clientele, alluring new audiences.

A strong belief in environmental production

For several decades, A.P.C by Jean Touitou has been doing what they do best : producing high quality through a well thought and ethical process. Since the 2000s, the Parisian brand has been working towards an environmental-friendly process, reducing its impact and global waste. In 2008, Touitou opens his first "APC Surplus" shop in the heart of Paris.
Commercializing the rest of old collections at rock-bottom prices, APC introduces a brand-new concept, meant to slow down the current consumption of clothing. The brand then actively works towards slow fashion and reducing waste, as they also offer second hand services, an opportunity for APC customers to re-sell their already worn APC jeans and pants.
