Founded in 1949 in Kobe, Japan, Asics quickly became a major player in the world of sneakers for sportsmen. Its GEL™ technology has elevated it into a world reference for sportsmen and women but also for lovers of comfort and innovation. "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano", or "a healthy mind in a healthy body", is the modo of the Japanese brand.
Conceived and designed by Angelo Baque and his team at Awake NY, the aim was to create a versatile pair that could be worn day or night. The GEL-NYC combines the latest technologies with ASICS' signature archival designs. The shoe's upper comes from the GEL-NIMBUS 3 of the early 2000s, mixed with a little of the design from the GEL-MC PLUS sneakers. The GEL-NYC features the GEL-CUMULUS 16 shoe tooling system, which offers extra comfort.
