A.P.C. X JW ANDERSON presents us Pull ange Marron.
The series of joint creations by JW Anderson and A.P.C. draws its essence from Joseph Beuys' performance piece titled "I Love America and America Loves Me." In 1974, this German artist undertook a very particular journey from Düsseldorf to New York, isolating himself in an ambulance and wrapping himself in a felt blanket to stay disconnected from the outside world. He then spent three days in the René Block Gallery, sharing the space with a coyote. The performance aimed to reconcile Western man, particularly the American, with a lost spirituality, notably Native American.
In this collection, Beuys' art is reinterpreted rather than copied literally. For example, the slightly rough texture of the duffle coat's wool subtly alludes to the felt used by Beuys. Other elements, such as the ambulance and the gallery's address (409 West Broadway), appear as graphic motifs on various items in the collection. The collection also serves as a reflection of Jonathan Anderson's personal tastes, offering what he would consider an ideal wardrobe. Overall, the collaboration innovatively revisits traditional elements of major clothing typologies.
Introducing a new dimension to the winter wardrobe, the Pull Ange from the APC x JW Anderson collaboration blends aesthetics and functionality. Crafted in English Shetland knit, the fabric made up of 85% wool and 15% cashmere offers a unique tactile experience: a warm and dry feel on one side, and incomparable softness on the other. This sweater is all the more versatile as it is reversible, able to be worn on either side to suit your mood.
The finishes are equally meticulous with double-thickness rib-knit at the collar, the bottom of the sleeves, and the base of the garment. An irregular red hand embroidery on the left sleeve adds a touch of originality and emphasizes the attention to detail inherent in this collaboration. A specific hangtag explains the unique nature of the sweater's reversible side, thus adding an informative dimension to this exceptional piece.
In summary, the Pull Ange represents the perfect alliance of warmth, comfort, and aesthetics, while respecting the quality codes of both iconic brands.
The model also wears a Polar Skateboards pants and Converse sneakers.
