HOW THE BRAND WAS CREATED ?

Its story begins in 1984, when its creator Anne Michelson who is an avid hiker, realizes that she needs quality down jackets to cope with the sometimes harsh weather conditions. It then begins to create its own pieces in its workshop, she decides to use feathers in duck geese to promote the warmth that brings the jackets. Previously, she had worked for Eddie Bauer who invented the first down jacket in 1936. Thanks to her experiences, she quickly met a small success. However, it is only since a few years that the brand has such an influence, said his daughter in an interview.

Since the 1980s, the brand has produced mainly for the Japanese market, which has a very specialized distribution network. Crescent Down still sells well in Japan, but is now developing its own e-commerce. Today, the brand is also available in other retail outlets around the world such as our Graduate store.

WHAT MAKES CRESCENT DOWN WORKS DOWN JACKETS WHAT THEY ARE?

Crescent Down Works garments are, thanks to the down, a true protection against the cold, almost unbeatable. Their down jackets are also considered extremely lightweight and breathable, which is a complicated quality to find for truly cold protective clothing. The brand also holds a certain ecological commitment by producing locally and guaranteeing their down RDS (Responsible Down Standard), which guarantees that their down comes from a responsible and ethical source. This down, therefore, comes from animals that are not plucked alive or force-fed for example, which is usually commonplace.

Over the years, the brand has made the choice not to change its range of clothing too much, continuing to do what they are specialists in. Nevertheless there are many styles keeping the classics of the brand, so it is not complicated to find your happiness.

Thanks to its recent outreach, the brand has been able to partner with many brands such as 3sixteen, Eddie Bauer Japan, Freecity, Todd Snyder and also shop-Independence in Chicago, Freeman in Seattle, Brooklyn Clothing in Calgary.
