How to Wear the Long Coat?

05/11/2018

In winter there are two schools of thought, the short coat lovers and the long coat supporters. Both camps have arguments as convincing as they are outlandish, so we won’t get into that debate today. We’re going to talk about how to wear the long coat, as it’s a chameleon piece in a wardrobe that can be worn with a hoodie as well as a turtleneck. We’ve prepared a few looks for you that showcase some of these possibilities.

Micro Reps Coat of Stone Island

This is one of our favorite combinations, the long coat / turtleneck is a great classic of the men’s wardrobe. There’s no chance of missing out with a nice black turtleneck from Drapeau Noir and a very technical Micro Reps Primaloft coat from Stone Island. An alliance between classic and tech-wear very modern perfect to stay warm this winter.

Drapeau Noir and its Comfort Coat

A checkered coat with a tailor’s collar from the house of Drapeau Noir, a white t-shirt and you’re done. Do we really need to say more? Simple and effective, especially paired with a pair of white Common Projects Bballs for a stylish sporty touch. It’s true that this outfit is not the most appropriate for the hard winter, but we can imagine it with a sweater or a wool sweater, sober and just as chic. For mid-season or for an evening out, it’s a simple and elegant way to say a little more about yourself.

The Alex Coat by A.P.C.

Man’s best friend in winter … his hoodie, and yes we love our fleece when it’s cold. But it’s true that sometimes it’s hard to fit in depending on how our day is going. By associating it with the Alex coat from A.P.C. we get an interesting street and dressy combo, the whole thing raised by a pair of cropped wool pants AMI and a pair of Chuck Taylor high black and here is an original and sophisticated outfit for this season Fall / Winter.

The AMI Coat with Plated Pockets

When you opt for an original coat like AMI’s patch pocket coat, it’s best to keep it simple and detract from the dressy look to highlight the piece. Like here with a black shirt, worn either open or closed that brings out the coat of the outfit. The coat is the strong piece of the male wardrobe in winter, so it is important that you are comfortable in your look, because nothing enhances a piece more than confidence.

Here you know a little more, there are obviously effective associations that we have not addressed as the sweater, the overshirt or the vest, but it is only part.
