This weekend, we’re talking about the Tokyo-based label NEIGHBORHOOD, which is back, fresh, with its brand new SS22 collection. Always placed under a streetwear inspiration, the brand does not fail to reinterpret the military design and the American motorbike culture through its collections.
For this collection update, we notice that founder Shinsuke Takizawa’s design philosophy is also based on vintage lines. It would not be surprising to be transported into a retro movie when you see some of the pieces in this new drop. There are also pieces with more conventional notes.
At the heart of our NEIGHBORHOOD selection, and reflecting the “streetwear” and “military” inspiration of the Japanese brand, we find a declination of jackets, crewnecks, shirts and t-shirts. The iconic NEIGHBORHOOD caps are also part of this SS22 collection.
The streetwear influences of this collection can be found on the black B.b. / n-jk Black jacket. The designer, as usual, has embellished this jacket with embroidery on the front and back of the piece.
The Nc / c-shirt . Is Black jacket and the long-sleeved Sulfur dye / c-crew . Is Green or Greige long-sleeved T-shirts in made-in-Japan cotton are more oriented towards the military world, as underlined by their cuts, colours and screen-printed typography.
On another note, the grey Trad / c-shirt embodies a more traditional style as it references the classic men’s shirt. The designer has combined this with the screen printing of his graphics. Keeping with the screen prints, the Nh-2 / c-tee .ls Sage green long sleeve t-shirt has a screen print in a gothic typography that is totally in keeping with the style of the piece.
The crewneck has obviously found its place in this drop. The Classic-s / c-crew . ls Light blue piece represents the streetwear lines that Takizawa has enriched with a white chest embroidery.
