At the beginning, Barry Barr, a young captain of a fishing boat, was looking for clothes that were resistant enough to face difficult weather conditions. In 1993, he decided to create a clothing brand called KAVU. He first became known thanks to the Strapcap that he sold directly from his car. Little by little the brand made a name for itself and opened its first shop in 2001 in the Ballar district of Seattle.
KAVU takes its name from an acronym used in aviation: "Clear Above Visibility Unlimited". Today, the Seattle-based brand is sold worldwide and advocates a lifestyle rich in experience, close to people and nature, which is directly reflected in their clothing and accessories.
