Your Converse are stained

The most optimized choice is to create your own cleaning solution. The Converse are made of canvas, which makes light stains very easy to remove.

Just dilute ¼ of a cup of washing powder with 2 cups of warm water and you're done! Note that if you don't have any, you can use your choice of soap, dishwashing liquid, shampoo, shower gel or glass cleaner.

It is advisable to remove the laces and clean them separately, so it will be easier to access certain areas!

To start, take a cloth or an old piece of your old clothes that you don't wear anymore, soak it in the cleaning solution beforehand, and scrub! Go little by little to remove all stains. Don't forget to regularly rinse the cloth in a bowl of hot water, it could leave marks! Try to saturate the cloth with cleaning solution, it will be more effective.

Once you are finished, or when you are satisfied with the cleanliness of your Converse, do the same with a bowl of hot water, this step will remove soap and dishwashing liquid residues from the fabric of your sneakers.

Prefer open air drying, avoid the sun if they are dark colored, it could damage the color.

Use the washing machine only in case of very persistent stains, if you repeat its use, the canva could come off the soles!

We have other little tips for you. For cleaning on small surfaces, you can put a small amount of toothpaste on the dirt. Scrub (not your teeth), then rinse with water. For drying, rest them near a source of natural heat, no sun and even less hair dryer, you will be disappointed.

Scuff marks on the front of shoes and tenacious stains

You can use a magical eraser, it is very useful in these cases, it allows to erase traces of oil, grass, food, etc.. Use one only if a cleaning and/or stain remover solution does not work.

You can also use a solution that mixes hydrogen peroxide and bicarbonate of sodium, but be careful, if your shoes are not white, the color could be degraded. Test the inside of the tongue beforehand, if it were to be discolored, it would not be visible from the outside.

And finally, better than sodium hydroxide or toothpaste, the ultimate cleaning tip from Converse white (only white, no colored shoes, they might not be colored anymore):

Simply prepare a solution of bleach and water. As far as proportions are concerned, it is best to make one part bleach to 5 parts water. Use an old toothbrush and scrub, your white Converse will come out like new! Then let them rest in natural heat, avoid again the sun and the hair dryer, it could damage them.

You now know the main tips for removing dirt and cleaning your Converse sneakers, hold on to them! You will surely need them this winter.
