Paraboot, founded at the end of the 19th century, is one of the last manufacturers of "sewn shoes" in France, based in the family factory in Saint-Jean-de-Moirans, at the foot of the French Alps. Engineered Garments is a New York-based brand founded in 1999 by Japanese designer Daiki Suzuki.
Paraboot's legendary La Clusaz Sport model in collaboration with New York-based Engineered Garments. This mountain shoe, revisited in a low-cut version for a city look, was originally inspired by the approach walks that combine hiking and climbing in the mountains.
La Clusaz Sport is a technical synthesis of three shoe models:
- The trail shoe for comfort.
- The climbing shoe for safety.
- The climbing shoe.
The pair boasts an urban look, inspired by the approach to the mountains that Paraboot revisited with the help of Engineered Garments designer Daiki Suzuki for a collaboration that breathes sport, fashion and casual into La Clusaz.
The EG Clusaz Sport chosen to express the creativity of both labels is available in suede, or more precisely in a type of leather with a soft, brushed black surface. Lacing is hereditary to mountain boots, and this pair features metal loops and eyelets. The Clusaz Sport features Norwegian stitching and a natural rubber sole.
